OLUX Offers Effective Treatment of Moderate to Severe Scalp Dermatoses

Many patients with moderate to severe scalp psoriasis were clear or almost clear of symptoms such as erythema (81%), scaling (89%), and plaque thickness (84%) after two weeks' BID treatment.^†

The patient presented in this case study was not part of a clinical trial. OLUX Foam was applied BID for 2 weeks. Second photo was taken at 3 weeks. Individual patient results may vary.

Treatment with OLUX Foam beyond 2 consecutive weeks is not recommended and the total dosage should not exceed 50 g per week because of the potential for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.

OLUX Foam is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.

In a controlled clinical trial (188 subjects) with OLUX Foam in subjects with psoriasis of the scalp, there were no localized scalp adverse reactions reported in the OLUX Foam treated subjects. In two controlled clinical trials (360 subjects) with OLUX Foam in subjects with psoriasis of non-scalp regions, localized adverse events that occurred in the OLUX Foam treated subjects included application site burning (10%), application site dryness (<1%), and other application site reactions (4%).
